THE MET BALL SPECIAL
The Mighty Met Ball
RETAIL RIFRAF! FASHION TERRORISTS!
KATE EATS! KARL DIES (KIND OF)!
CANDY BLACKS OUT!
AND THAT WAS JUST THE FIRST 20 MINUTES
NEW YORK – Last night in a historic Met Ball first, Stanley McMillan, the president and CEO of Loehmann's, dined snugly between fashion idols Stella McCartney and Giambattista Valli. "We're just so excited to be here this year, this really is the dawn of a new era for us. Oh, look, it's Jaffe!" said the giddy McMillan as he waved to David Jaffe, CEO of Dress Barn, seated at the Marshalls table opposite. Jaffe offered a hearty thumbs-up to his colleague before bringing an arm to rest around the shoulders of Sasha Pivovarova and slugging from his champagne flute. Hours later, as the drunken, couture-clad merriment began to wind down, a too-tipsy Emmanuelle Alt shrieked in horror before fainting on the Met steps after spotting a "terrorist" on the premises – her majesty Queen Rania of Jordan, who sported last year's Prada turban to the event, and later admitted the accessory was indeed "terrifyingly" out of season. When asked later that evening for her take on the night's most directional looks, Style.com executive fashion director Candy Pratts Price succinctly replied: "Fuck if I know, I blacked out after the first 20 minutes."

"DEAD" KARL LAGERFELD MAKES APPEARANCE AT MET BALL
NEW YORK – A case of mistaken identity sent shockwaves through the Met Ball last night as the death of Karl Lagerfeld, a German farmer who shared names with the Chanel couturier, was hastily announced. Tears streamed down Lady Amanda Harlech's cheeks as she wailed into John Galliano's neck: "I can't believe he's gone!...Will you pay my Fresh Direct bill?" The grief-stricken Chanel muse had just received a BBM from Tom Ford (engaged in an orgy in the bathroom) saying that Lagerfeld was killed in a catastrophic tractor incident in the German countryside. "What was he doing on a f*cking tractor," snorted an already sloppy but observant Lindsay Lohan. It wasn't until twenty minutes later, after Kate Moss ate six foie gras sliders in frenzied depression, when news arrived that tractor victim Lagerfeld was not, in fact, fashion's beloved Kaiser Karl, but a pig farmer of the same name from Ausburg, Germany. The "real" Karl couldn't have asked for a better primer to his entrance, made not two minutes later with an entourage of It girls including Jennifer Tilly and Helena Christensen. When Anna Wintour threw herself at his feet, crying "I'm sorry I never respond to your Evites!" while kissing his shiny patent toes, Karl claimed to have been "a touch surprised. But it's nothing out of the ordinary." –Carlotta Hogan

WASSON SHOCKS MET BALL FASHION PACK
    WITH UNWASHED PLUS-ONE
Supermodel takes disheveled chic look too far
NEW YORK – Supermodel Erin Wasson purchased two seats for this year's Met Ball, and many attendees at last night's event were shocked at her choice of plus-one. Last week Wasson revealed to WWWWD her plans to bring Willie, a 42-year-old former crack addict who currently resides in a recycling bin outside her Venice Beach home. "Willie embodies the freedom of fashion," Wasson said. "He is totally unaffected by consumer influence because he has no money to buy shit. He dresses to feel good, and is always reinventing his look with whatever he finds. It's crazy." Willie was at a loss for words when WWWWD spoke to him behind a Sonic Burger on Abbot Kinney Boulevard. "When Erin told me about the ball I couldn't believe my ears," he said. "A whole ball? No one buys that much." Wasson sees this year's gala as an opportunity to give back twofold. "Fuck man, how could I not take a guy who eats my garbage and treat him to a Cinderella moment, you know?" –Zoraida Akhmatova

Bruce Weber and Nan Bush set to renew vows Downtown Gallery Finds Mannequins as Muse Coty and Blake Lively to Launch Gender Neutral Fragrance
EAST HAMPTON, NY – Legendary fashion photographer Bruce Weber and his wife Nan Bush have confirmed plans to renew their vows this June in a seaside ceremony in East Hampton, where the couple reside. Weber, the prolific author of male photography books such as The Chop Suey Club and Bear Pond, and Bush, his longtime agent and partner, have expressed a desire for a "private, secretive, closed-off ceremony" to celebrate their decades-long love affair. Weber muses such as Jeff Aquilon, Peter Johnston, and Garrett Neff have confirmed their attendance to WWWWD. NEW YORK – Real models may be getting all the buzz at the Met, but one East Village gallery is staging a retrospective of couture super-mannequins, from Louis XIV's brocade dress forms to Maude, the face of Bloomingdales from 1942 to 1946. "Maude represents exactly what fashion is about–light, hollow vacancy that looks good in anything," said Conrad McGowan, 72, chief curator of the show. "Girls these days just aren't the same." Alongside Maude's famous face and legendary sinewy neck are Claudette, the controversial Barneys window model from the '80s whose pert behind inspired Stephanie Seymour Brant's first four rounds of butt implants, and Simona, whose buxom bosom was the sole inspiration behind Thierry Mugler's Spring/Summer 1992 "L'Afrique" collection. NEW YORK – Today Coty Prestige and Blake Lively, star of CW's Gossip Girl, announced a global licensing agreement with the premiere fragrance TRANScent. The unisex fragrance will be available for men, women, and transgendered customers, and reflects the strength and confidence for which the actor has become so well known. Famed photographer David LaChappelle has been tapped to photograph Lively for a print campaign set to break in September books. Packaged in a feminine 64 oz. bottle, the scent itself has a musk and deepness that are distinctly masculine. A 3-inch fragrance atomizer with funnel by SheWee® is a gift with purchase.
